    Terms & Conditions

    These terms set out the rules for using devencelab.com. They are written to be read: where a clause limits what you can expect from us, it says so plainly.

    Last updated: September 17, 2026

    1. Acceptance of These Terms

    By accessing or using devencelab.com and its pages (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Site. If you use the Site on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it, and “you” includes that organization.

    Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information collected through the Site and forms part of these Terms.

    2. About Devence Lab and This Site

    The Site is operated by Devence Lab (“Devence Lab”, “we”, “us”), an applied research lab working on autonomous AI for organizations operating in regulated and safety-critical settings. The Site describes our research and services, publishes our articles and insights, and lets you contact us.

    3. Using the Site

    You may use the Site for lawful purposes, to learn about our work and to get in touch. You agree not to:

    • use the Site in any way that breaks applicable law or infringes anyone's rights;
    • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers or any connected system, or probe, scan or test their vulnerability without our written permission;
    • interfere with the Site's operation, including by overloading it, introducing malicious code, or circumventing security or rate limits;
    • scrape, copy or harvest the Site's content in bulk by automated means, except as permitted by our robots.txt or with our written permission;
    • use the contact form to send spam, unsolicited promotions, or content that is unlawful, misleading or abusive; or
    • misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any person or organization.

    If you have found a security vulnerability, please report it to contact@devencelab.com rather than testing it further. We welcome responsible disclosure.

    4. Research, Articles and Insights

    Our articles and insights discuss research in AI safety, interpretability, verification and related fields, and report on developments reported by others. We work to make them accurate and to cite our sources, but research moves quickly: findings are revised, methods are superseded, and a piece reflects what was known when it was published.

    Examples, figures and product illustrations on the Site that are labelled as illustrative are exactly that. They show how something works and are not reported results from any client or system.

    5. No Professional Advice

    Nothing on the Site is legal, regulatory, compliance, financial, security or other professional advice, and no content creates an advisory or client relationship. References to frameworks and regulations, such as the EU AI Act, the NIST AI Risk Management Framework or ISO/IEC 42001, describe how our work relates to them. They are not certifications, and they are not a substitute for advice on your own obligations.

    6. Intellectual Property

    The Site and its content, including text, articles, graphics, designs, logos and the Devence Lab name, are owned by or licensed to Devence Lab and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except as these Terms allow, no rights are granted to you.

    You may:

    • view and print pages for your own, non-commercial reference; and
    • quote short excerpts of our articles, with attribution to Devence Lab and a link to the original page.

    You may not otherwise reproduce, republish, modify, sell or distribute Site content, or use our name or logos in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation, without our written permission. Third-party names and trademarks mentioned on the Site belong to their owners.

    7. Contacting Us and Submissions

    When you contact us through the Site or by email, you agree to give accurate information, and we will use it as described in our Privacy Policy. Please do not send confidential or proprietary information through the contact form: until a written agreement is in place, we cannot accept an obligation of confidentiality for unsolicited material.

    If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback about our work or the Site, you agree that we may use them without restriction or compensation to you.

    8. Engagements and Services

    These Terms govern your use of the Site only. Any research, engineering, assurance or other services we provide are governed by a separate written agreement signed with the client. If that agreement conflicts with these Terms, the agreement prevails for those services. A conversation, proposal or estimate is not a commitment to provide services until such an agreement is signed.

    9. Third-Party Links and Sources

    The Site links to third-party websites, papers and sources, and our insights summarize reporting by others. We do not control those sites or their content, are not responsible for them, and a link is not an endorsement. Your use of a third-party site is subject to its own terms and policies.

    10. Disclaimers

    The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors or harmful components.

    11. Limitation of Liability

    To the fullest extent permitted by law, Devence Lab and its personnel will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

    Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Site is limited to one hundred US dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent the law permits. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

    12. Indemnification

    You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Devence Lab and its personnel from claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site.

    13. Governing Law and Disputes

    These Terms, and any dispute arising from or related to them or the Site, are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction, and you and we consent to their personal jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.

    Before starting proceedings, you agree to contact us at contact@devencelab.com and give us thirty days to try to resolve the matter informally. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory protections of the law where you live.

    14. General Terms

    • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Site.
    • Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, it is limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest remains in effect.
    • No waiver. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
    • Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours, including in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
    • Availability. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the Site at any time, without notice or liability.

    15. Changes to These Terms

    We may update these Terms. The current version is always on this page, with its “Last updated” date. Changes apply from that date; using the Site afterwards means you accept them. Where a change is significant, we will say so on the Site.

    16. Contact

    Questions about these Terms can be sent to contact@devencelab.com.
